About

Susanna Lovisolo is a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based in Italy. She spent two years studying graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cuneo before realizing that children’s illustration was her true calling. She has always been passionate about drawing and made the decisions to devote herself entirely to illustration.
She attended the Comics and Illustration School in Asti from 2019 to 2023 before enrolling in the annual program at the PencilART Illustration School in Rome. She also studied professional writing for children at the Holden School in Turin and participated in several professional illustration courses, including one organized by the Italian publishing company Feltrinelli. She completed her Master in Illustration with PencilART in 2025.
Susanna began creating digital art at the age of four on her Amiga 2000. While she appreciates traditional art, digital art remains her preferred medium. She primarily works with Photoshop and Procreate, but also has experience with Affinity Designer and Adobe Illustrator.
Her background in photography and reportage has contributed to her distinctive perspective as an artist. Susanna has received several awards, including first place in the Gazzetta D’Asti-hosted Astimusica photography competition in 2011 and second place in the Soom Korea photography competition. Her work was featured in the inaugural issue of Art Decades magazine.
As an illustrator, Susanna has worked on projects funded by the ATF Association and the Cassa di Risparmio di Asti. She was also responsible for character design on the indie video game Ninjà by the RAD company in Milan in 2018. Since January 2024, she has been a member of the SCBWI.
